Milwaukee is home. I was born in Madison, WI, but I have lived in multiple states. I have degrees in both Marketing and Sound Engineering. I have been a certified personal trainer since 2012. My experience has spanned from group classes, personal training, cycling, and yoga. I have a great emotional awareness and use this to cater to individual client needs. I believe that there is no shortcut to improving one’s level of physical fitness. It is a lifelong process that requires breaking unhealthy, ingrained habits through the establishment and pursuit of new fitness and nutritional goals. Attaining one’s fitness objectives is a matter of concentrated effort: equal parts hard work, resolve and perseverance.

Tells us all a little bit about yourself! Where are you from? What brought you to Milwaukee?

I'm from (and currently reside in) Racine, but spend a great deal of time in Milwaukee. I enrolled in Alverno College as an undergraduate in 2007, and then completed my Master's Degree in Education at Alverno last year.  I've worked at an office located in the Third Ward for over six years, and this office happens to be located within walking proximity to SPIRE.

The Basics of Rip Training

The Basics of Rip Training

This past July, we rolled out our newest class offering at SPIRE, TRX Rip Training! What exactly is rip training? The rip trainer is a lever bar that uses resistance from a single bungee cord to create variable resistance, focusing on rotation, core stability, control, power, balance, and coordination. What does that mean in plain english? It means you’ll practice movements that you encounter in everyday life and get stronger, prevent injury, and perform better! Getting excited for your first class? Great! Before you get rolling, here are some Rip Trainer basics you’ll need to know.

Training For Your First Ragnar

Training For Your First Ragnar

Our SPIRE Squad has been working hard all summer training for ½ marathons, marathons, and most recently the 2017 Northwoods Trail Ragnar. I will start this post by stating, I am a casual runner. My running pace is average. I have only completed two races in my life, both were charity 5Ks. Despite all of this, I ended up signing up for my first-ever Ragnar Trail Race in Northern Wisconsin…… AND I LOVED IT. Keep reading to find out how we trained and what made this such an awesome experience.

Hi Gang!

Being a part of the triathlon scene for over 35 years, it has been an amazing journey to see it go from nobody knowing the word, to everybody knowing about IRONMAN. The industry has come a long way with high tech bikes and gear, nutrition, coaching and many more aspects of the sport. The coolest thing that has become of the sport is the participation and more and more people finding it to be a challenge every year, or a bucket list item. Watching this sport from the sideline and to see it grow has been phenomenal!
