INSTRUCTOR PROFILE: ELIZABETH

Tell me about yourself. Where are you from and what brought you to Milwaukee? When you are not at SPIRE, what else keeps you busy?

I grew up just north of Milwaukee. I spent some time in Nashville and Minneapolis for college, and then decided I wanted to be closer to my family, so moved back, and have been in Milwaukee ever since. I absolutely love living by the water, and the Milwaukee summers! Some of my favorite things are runs by the lake, and rooftop patio happy hours. I also work full-time, and have a side business as a skincare consultant, so I'm always staying busy!


Did / Do you compete in any type of sport or activity?

I played soccer competitively up until high school, and after that, became involved the performing arts.

Why did you become a teacher?

I became a teacher, because I wanted to do something to inspire others. Everyone's fitness journey is different, and being able to help others achieve that, while showing them they can have fun at the same time, is a wonderful feeling!


What do you love besides cycling?

I enjoy all types of workouts! Hot yoga, tabata, running and circuit training. I really try to switch up my workouts from day to day!


What is a one year goal you are working on right now?

I am always working on improving my self. My main goal is simply to be better tomorrow than I am today.


How do you kick your day off?

Most mornings, I do some type of workout, and follow it up with a homemade green smoothie before heading off to work.

What are your top favorite healthy snacks?

I make my own energy bars, which is probably my favorite healthy pre-workout snack. I also love snacking on fruit, nuts, and avocado. Anything with eggs or egg whites is also a favorite of mine!

What does your current workout routine look like?

Depends on the day - I try to switch it up every day! If I do strength training in the morning, I'll do some easy cardio in the evening. But spin is probably my favorite way to break a sweat!

What makes your class different from others?

The thing I like most about Rhythm Ride is that it truly is a full-body workout. Music has always been a huge part of my life, so a lot of the class is music driven. I wouldn't be surprised if you catch me accidentally singing along to the songs!

What’s the one thing most people don’t know about you?

I LOVE to travel - There are a lot of places I still need to cross off my bucket list!

What’s your favorite drink?

Vodka soda with lime!

What inspires you?

Helping others inspires me. I love helping others feel good about themselves. For every class, my one goal is that everyone leaves feeling good about themselves. If I can contribute to that in any way, shape or form - that inspires me!

What is your favorite restaurant in Milwaukee? 

Odd Duck!

What are a few of your favorite songs to get pumped up?

"Fergalicious" by Fergie. Everytime I hear "up in the gym just working on my fitness," it totally pumps me up! Also, almost anything Britney Spears!

If you could retire tomorrow, what would you do?

If I could retire tomorrow, I would likely do something that was fitness-related. That....or be a country singer!
