Tell us about yourself. Where are you from and what made you choose Marquette and Milwaukee as your new home? 

I am from River Forest, Illinois, which is about an hour and a half drive from Milwaukee. I chose Marquette as my school because of the city location and it being close to home. It is easy for me to visit my family. I also chose Marquette because nine of my family members are alumni of Marquette! 

What are you studying at Marquette? Why did you choose that major? 

I am studying Nursing at Marquette. I chose this major because I have always been interested in learning about science as well as the importance of healthcare. I also want to make a difference in someone’s life and I know nurses do that every single day. 

What brought you to SPIRE and what has kept you coming back? 

A friend from Marquette recommended me to come and try a SPIRE class and ever since I’ve been hooked! The mix of music as well as the theme rides have kept me coming back for more. Coming to a SPIRE class is always the highlight of my day since it offers a high energy and positive environment. 

What goals has SPIRE helped you to achieve?

SPIRE has helped me to get off of Marquette’s campus and be able to explore and get involved in Milwaukee’s community. I have met a lot of new people that I would not have otherwise met if I had not gone to SPIRE. I am thankful for all the new friends that I have made! 

What keeps you inspired for your workouts? Do you have a motto?

“You never regret a workout.” I always tell myself this whenever I feel like sleeping in or skipping a workout. And it's true, I never do regret a workout! 

What is your favorite post workout snack or meal? 

Peanut butter and banana on toast. Easy to make and tastes delicious! 

What is your favorite workout song or Artist?

Currently, my favorite song is "Beautiful Drug" by Zac Brown Band. Also, Taylor Swift is always a good go-to playlist. 

Tell us a fun fact about yourself. 

I have been rollerblading since I was seven. I like to go rollerblading by the lake when the weather is nice out!

 What are some recent accomplishments or goals that you have made in your life?

One goal that I have is complete in a half marathon. I hope to do one this spring or summer! 

We know that students are very busy and have a hard time finding time to workout. Do you have any advice to other students about keeping up a workout routine? 

My advice to other students is to get each classes’ syllabus and write down when exams and assignments are due into a planner. This will help to organize your week and then plan your workouts around your class work. I like to plan my schedule a week out. The more organized you are with your time, the easier it will be to find time to workout! 

What are some of your favorite meals to cook in college? 

I eat a lot of oatmeal. It is a quick and healthy meal that you can spice up by putting different kinds of fruit and toppings in it. I also like to cook chicken and try different flavored recipes. I try to find recipes that are easy to make since I don't have a lot of time to cook. 

Do you have any tips on time management for college students?  

A tip that I have is to get ahead on assignments if you have a slow week. This will help to break up your work so that you do not feel too overwhelmed when you do have a busy week.
