Tell us a little bit about yourself—where are you from and what brought you to Milwaukee?

I grew up in Kaukauna, WI where I was very active with track and dance. I moved to Milwaukee for undergrad at University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. After graduating from UWM, I left for graduate school in Florida for a few months, then Iowa for a little more than three years. After graduate school, I moved back to Milwaukee for work.

What got you interested in cycling?

I started cycling earlier in 2017, I was looking for cross-training for my marathon training that would give me a great workout, but also work my legs in a different way.

When you’re not at spire, where are you and what are you doing?

I’m a chiropractor in Union Grove. I spend a lot of my free time training for marathons. I love going out for brunch on the weekends with my girlfriends, and I finding pet-friendly places to take my dog, Einstein, to.

Who or what has inspired you?

I like surrounding myself with people who are better than me at something, whether that be with work, cycling, or running. That’s how I get better and grow. I get inspired by seeing what I can be if I keep working it.

What is your go-to workout song?

Anything Bruno Mars. I love the energy in his songs, and they always get me motivated. You can expect to hear Bruno in my classes. :)

What are the top three items on your bucket list?

I want to cage dive with great white sharks in South Africa, run all six marathon majors, and go to Egypt to see the pyramids.

Where was your best travel experience? 

My best travel experience so far was to India. I went to India with a group of classmates for our clinic abroad program when I was in grad school. India was very eye-opening for me. It was beautiful in so many ways, but being there and seeing that kind of poverty made me appreciate everything and everyone I have.

What motivates you to keep pushing hard, especially in the gym?

Setting fitness goals for myself keeps me pushing forward. When I reach them, I set the bar higher.

What is some of the best advice you have received?

Let go of people and things that do not bring good to your life.

Favorite ways to sweat?

I love running and cycling. Training for marathons keeps me focused on something year-round. Cycling is great for me when I need a break from running or when I need to spice up my training week.  

What is your favorite Milwaukee restaurant?

Hands down Thai-Namite. I love spicy food, and this restaurant has great character and Thai food.

Why should clients come to your class?

Working out should be challenging, but fun! I plan on bringing you an upbeat, energizing class that’ll make you glad you showed up!
