WHAT GOT YOU INTERESTED IN CREW?
I remember being on a rower at a gym and although I had no idea what I was doing, I found I really enjoyed the repetitive motion. Then a customer told me about SPIRE’s crew class and I decided to check it out. I fell in love with the rower and the never-ending quest for the most efficient stroke possible. At SPIRE I learned how dynamic the rower really is and how great of a workout it provides.
WHEN YOU’RE NOT AT SPIRE, WHERE ARE YOU AND WHAT ARE YOU DOING?
I’m a real homebody so I’m usually at my apartment getting into a project, reading, or watching Parks & Rec. I recently starting running with a great crew and sometimes hit up a weekly meditation group. I’m also a member of a minimalist group and have gotten rid of a lot of stuff over the past couple of years. I recently tossed 1000’s of pictures and my yearbooks; people usually get wide-eyed when I tell them that.
WHO OR WHAT HAS INSPIRED YOU?
I get a lot of inspiration from females that are out there making fitness a priority, pushing themselves to be stronger and healthier. Athletes with disabilities who don’t let it hold them back from doing the activities they love also inspire me. I recently saw the Nike commercial with Kyle Maynard and was in complete awe.
