Tell me about yourself. Where are you from and what brought you to Milwaukee? When you are not at SPIRE, what else keeps you busy?

I was born in Barrow Alaska – “the top of the world”. My family moved to Lebanon when I was young stayed there until I decided to go to college in the U.S. I received my undergraduate at Duluth University in Minnesota where I majored in Biochemistry. I then attended business school at UW-Milwaukee where I finished my MBA last May.

Do you compete in any type of sports?

I love basketball. I considered playing professionally in Lebanon but decided to go to college instead. I also play soccer and really enjoy group fitness.

What made you decide to become an instructor?

Visiting parents in Lebanon one summer, I wasn’t exercising regularly and not taking care of diet. My dad had just joined a health club that had group fitness classes. I tried body pump and really enjoyed the whole experience – the workout, the music and the energy of the group. I continued trying other classes throughout the summer and decided to get certified as an instructor with Les Milles. I started teaching in Minnesota and have been at it ever since.

What makes your class different from others?

I work hard to have music drive my class. Cycling to the music, riding to the beat really helps deliver a great workout and overall class experience. I always try to keep a good mix of music to keep things fresh.

What certifications do you have?

Les Mills and Schwinn Cycling. I’m working on National Group Certification.
